Melinda Lautner was re-elected in June 2022 to serve a three-year term through 2025.

As a self-employed farmer, she operates a 150-year-old family farm with a seasonal farm market.

Lautner studied business and horticulture at Northwestern Michigan College.

She currently acts as the vice chairman of the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners. Lautner also sits on the Leelanau County Planning Commission, Leelanau County Parks and Recreation Commission, Leelanau County Finance and Audit Commission, and Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department Board. She has also been associated with the Leelanau County Housing Action Committee, BATA Board of Directors, Cedar/Maple City Lions Club, and Cedar Chamber of Commerce.

In her free time, Lautner volunteers for the Cedar Polka Fest and Cedar Rod & Gun Club.
