John Olson was reelected in June 2019 to serve a three-year term through 2022.

Olson is a co-owner of Elmbrook Golf Course, as well as an associate broker with Real Estate One.

Graduating in 1966, he holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial management (with an economics minor) from Ferris State University. He also studied at Central Michigan University and Northwest Michigan College.

For nearly three decades, Olson has been a certified mediator with Conflict Resolution Services participating in both volunteer and circuit court mediations. He is also actively associated with the Traverse City Rotary Club, Michigan Golf Course Association, and Traverse City Congregational Church.

Previously, Olson was active with the Birmingham Lions Club (1975-1983) and the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce (1975-1983).
