Residential Rebate Guide

Here is a list of commonly asked questions regarding our residential rebate program:

Does the LED bulb or appliance have to be ENERGY STAR rated?

All LED bulbs and appliances must be ENERGY STAR rated to qualify for a rebate. The ENERGY STAR logo will appear on the package or Energy Guide.  If you don’t see the logo, the LED bulb or appliance is not ENERGY STAR rated and doesn’t qualify for a rebate.

Is there a limit on the number of LED bulbs that can be purchased?

No, more bulbs the merrier! But if you do purchase 20 bulbs or more, let us know the reason for the quantity (i.e. family room has 20 can lights, four bedrooms and each have five lights).

When must I have my rebate claim submitted?

Once you have made your purchase, please submit a claim within 30 days.

Will my rebate claim be considered if I submit after the 30-day period?

Don’t worry, we will still consider your claim as long as the item’s date of purchase, installation, and claim submission are all within the same calendar year. But if you do submit within 30 days of purchase, we can get the rebate to you faster.

Is there a limit on the number of rebate claims that I can file in one year?

No, submit as many claims as you want.

If the purchase price is lower than the rebate value, what will be the rebate amount?

If that’s the case, we will match your purchase cost. Sales tax is not included in the rebate value.

How will I know if I have received a rebate?

Your rebate will appear as a bill credit on your billing statement one to two billing cycles from submission date. Credits can be found as a line item just above the “Total Charges” line on the right side of the bill. Not sure where that is? Take a look at our billing section of our website.

What do I need when submitting a rebate form?

Easy. All you will need to do is complete the rebate form on our website and forward it to us with a copy of your sales receipt. If you purchased 20 or more LED bulbs, remember to tell us why you needed that quantity. Heat pump purchases require require proof of efficiency ratings in order to qualify for a rebate.

Funds are limited and other restrictions may apply. For more information, please contact us at 231-486-9200.

I purchased a new furnace, hot water heater, and air conditioner this past May of 2015.
Is there any way to get a rebate on any or all of those items?

    • Cherryland October 6, 2016 at 7:45 am - Reply

The items’ date of purchase, installation, and claim submission must all be within the same calendar year. Unfortunately, that would disqualify the items you purchased in May 2015 from receiving rebates. I will pass along your contact information to our energy use adviser Tammy Squires. She can make more information about residential rebate program available to you and see if there is anything else that qualifies you for a rebate.

Hi Ryan – the rebates apply to both existing and newly constructed homes! All items must meet the same criteria listed on the application.

Is the $3-15 bulb rebate per bulb or total

    • Cherryland October 2, 2018 at 4:58 pm - Reply

Hi Paul – that is per bulb, depending on what type of bulb you are looking to install. Our rebate application has that breakdown. Thanks!

We just moved into our new home late in 2018. First saw rebate offer in this month’s issue of Country Lines.

We all that was going on with the move, there was no time to absorb all the interesting information.
